why is it that some religious folk think athiests are %26quot;bad people%26quot;. what have we done to make it seem that we are %26quot;bad%26quot;?? just because we dont believe in any type of supernatural being? if athiests are so horrible then how come japan has the lowest crime rate[least religious country]?? how come im not robbing banks, shooting people with guns, thowing rocks at homless, etc. i dont understand why religious people think we are so horrible and judge us for what we believe in. i thought religion was suppose to %26quot;love%26quot; and not judge others...but it seems that is the total opposite im experiencing with religious folk.... many religious people think people who dont agree with them are burning in hell....but what about that is fair, loving or non-judgmental? just because i dont BELIEVE??? some one please explain this to me. anyone else feel the same??

That goes both ways. As far as I can tell, on Yahoo, Atheism is a religion. I have seem more Atheist posts condemning religion (mainly Christianity ) preaching about how %26quot; enlightened %26quot; they are because they have science.
I don%26#039;t care what you believe. You can believe that a taco is god for all I care. But don%26#039;t play the persecuted atheist card here. It%26#039;s totally unfounded.

I think it is this insecurity that leads religious people to lash out at atheists...|||Yes, atheists seem to be a particular affront to believers. I would have thought that belief in a competing religion would be more threatening, but no belief in a god seems to be the worst thing on the heirarchy.|||What makes you think atheist are not bad? Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism don%26#039;t teach People to be %26quot;bad%26quot;. As long as you don%26#039;t do wrong in the name of God, its what it is - human wrong behavior.|||I am a Christian, (Catholic) and I have no issue with anyone who believes in Atheism. I grew up in a part of the country that promotes the %26quot;bible thumping sermons of hell, fire, and brimstone%26quot; and even attended the world%26#039;s largest Baptist university. What I learned through my experience was to be tolerant of others, and perhaps you can learn something from thier life experiences. Not all of us are %26quot;judgemental%26quot; and believe that if you don%26#039;t share thier same beliefs that your going to hell. Just my 2 cents :)|||many Christians of all denominations think it is their %26quot;duty%26quot; to convert people to their beliefs ... personally i am always happy to talk with someone with regards to Jesus or God or religion in general if they wish to, but as far as trying to persuade them to %26quot;come to Christ%26quot; ... i dont do that... nor is it my belief that if you choose not to, you are condemned to some fiery hell ... no does it make you a bad person... Jesus did not go knocking door to door begging ppl to believe ..and i sincerely doubt my Father sits on His throne worrying whether we believe or not... if you are a Christian and you really do believe ...there are only really 2 commandments ... love Him and each other... there are a lot of well meaning Christians out there that do more harm than good because they go by what they are told rather than seek for themselves... and we must be careful because we are told that we will be judged the way we judge others... sorry for your experiences|||I am a Christian, and I promise you that I don%26#039;t hate you at all. I%26#039;m just sorry that you have let satan harden your heart to God. And I%26#039;m very sorry that when you die, you will spend eternity in Hell.
