Is it natural for investment banks to challenge Bernanke's opinion - that we're heading in

In other words, are economists at the investment banks aligned with Wall Street%26#039;s interest in bringing down the federal funds rate?

I myself wonder if the Fed Chair doesn%26#039;t perhaps downplay the likelihood of a recession in order to avoid having his comments contribute to the recession. It becomes a self fulfilling prophesy, %26quot;believing makes it so%26quot;. Greenspan on the other hand, can tell it like he sees it now that he is out of office. I think he is giving it a 1 in 3 chance of seeing a recession kick in by the end of the year.
